Here’s the difference:

Choose the UK Category if:

• Your business is based in the UK

• Your clients are based in the UK

• Your website, services, or AI-generated content are only aimed at a UK audience

• You don’t actively target or work with clients in the EU

Example: You’re a UK coach using AI to help you write newsletters and blog posts for your UK clients. Your website is written for a UK audience and your services are not promoted outside the UK.

→ The UK Category is the right choice.

Choose the EU Category if:

• You’re a UK business, but…

  • You work with clients in the EU, or

  • Your AI-generated content (blogs, courses, downloads) could be seen or used by EU audiences, or

  • You use an AI chatbot or tool on your website that could interact with visitors from the EU

Example: You sell digital downloads or offer online courses from your UK website and there’s a chance someone from France, Germany or elsewhere in the EU might buy, read, or interact with your content.

Remember if you are a service provider you need to think about the end-user so if you’re providing services to a client and their clients or audience could be in the EU then this will also mean you need to comply with the EU AI Act!
